WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2016 BIO CEO & Investor Conference Buzz of BIO contest, which recognizes highly innovative companies in the biotech sector. Taking place February 8-9, 2016 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, the 18th Annual BIO CEO & Investor Conference will focus on investment opportunities for established and emerging publicly traded and select private biotech companies. “The Buzz of BIO competition spotlights both private companies looking for their next round of financing as well as public companies looking to make new and valuable connections,” said Jim Greenwood, BIO President & CEO. “We are pleased to feature these cutting-edge companies as our Buzz of BIO winners and provide them an opportunity to meet potential new partners at the BIO CEO & Investor Conference.” The Buzz of BIO at the BIO CEO & Investor Conference competition featured 20 nominees pulling in over 1,200 votes. The competition is sponsored by Tiberend Strategic Advisors, Inc. with support from BioCentury Publications. The winners are: Most Buzzworthy Private Company: Biothera Pharmaceutical, Inc. Biothera Pharmaceutical, Inc. is an immune oncology company. Most Buzzworthy Public Company: StemCells, Inc.
